Privacy Policy
Spark & Joy Kids (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates the website at sparkandjoykids.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Spark & Joy Kids is a brand website for parents, teachers, and early-childhood educators — not a platform for children to use directly. Our songs are made for children ages 3–6, but the Site itself is intended to be used by adults on their behalf. See “Children’s Privacy” below.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Email address, if you sign up for “Join the Spark & Joy Family” updates. We do not require a name, and we do not ask for any information about your child.
- Your message and email address, if you contact us at [email protected].
Information collected automatically:
- Analytics data, via Google Analytics (GA4) — this may include your general location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, pages visited, how you arrived at the Site, and general on-site behavior. We do not use this data to identify you personally.
- Cookie-free page statistics, via Cloudflare Web Analytics. This measures page views and performance without cookies, without storing anything on your device, and without tracking you across sites — so it runs whether or not you accept analytics cookies.
- Cookies, set by Google Analytics and the embedded YouTube video player when you press play (we use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced
youtube-nocookie.commode).
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell your information to third parties.
2. How We Use Information
- Send you occasional email updates about new songs, printables, coloring pages, and resources — only if you’ve signed up.
- Understand how people use the Site, so we can improve it (aggregated analytics).
- Respond to messages sent to our contact email.
3. Third Parties We Work With
- Cloudflare — website hosting, security, and cookie-free page statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics); processes requests to the Site (including IP addresses) in order to serve, protect, and measure it.
- Google Analytics — analytics.
- YouTube / Google — links to our YouTube channel and embedded videos (via
youtube-nocookie.com). - Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — manages our email list, sends our updates, and handles unsubscribe requests.
We don’t control how these third parties handle data beyond what we send them — their own privacy policies govern that.
4. Cookies & Your Choices
When you first visit the Site, you’ll be asked whether to allow analytics cookies. No analytics cookies are set until you accept. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of any page, or by adjusting your browser’s cookie settings directly.
Embedded YouTube videos are handled separately: nothing loads from YouTube until you choose to press play, and we use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com mode. Playing a video may set YouTube’s own cookies.
5. Children’s Privacy
The Site is intended for parents, caregivers, teachers, and other adults who choose content for children — not for children to use directly. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. We don’t have user accounts, we don’t ask children to enter any information, and our email signup and contact links are intended for adults. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
6. Your Rights
- Unsubscribe from emails at any time via the link in every email we send.
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you by contacting [email protected].
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under applicable laws. To exercise any privacy-related request, please contact us at [email protected].
7. Data Retention & Security
We keep your email address for as long as you’re subscribed, plus a reasonable period after unsubscribing for record-keeping. We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. International Visitors
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including by our service providers. By using the Site, you understand that information may be transferred across international borders.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the effective date above.
